Our work with Digital Friendly York

Digital Friendly York is a partnership of organisations which aims to give residents in York the choice and opportunity to get online and know where to access help when they need it.

Digital Friendly York is currently lead by a steering group; Keeping Digital Foundation, City of York Council, York Learning, and IT ReUse.

We want everyone to understand how digital technology can benefit them, be able to gain the skills they need to make the most of it and get connected.

100% Digital York is now known as Digital Friendly York. The partnership still works to improve digital inclusion services across the city, helping residents of York to have the choice and opportunity to get online, and to get support in doing so. The Keeping Digital Foundation continues to be part of this important partnership.

How the Keeping Digital Foundation works with Digital Friendly York

We work with the partnership to improve digital inclusion services across the city, to help give residents of York the choice and opportunity to get online, and to get support in doing so.

In partnership with Digital Friendly York, the Keeping Digital Foundation runs the Digital Cafe service which provides local support to different areas of York through free monthly support cafes at local community hubs. The service will be expanding with new Cafes opening throughout the year.

We also work with Digital Friendly York to provide support with volunteering opportunities. Digital Friendly York are working with Keeping Digital Foundation to recruit volunteers to help support sessions to help tackle digital exclusion across the city.

Volunteers are a valued part of the team at Keeping Digital Foundation and we work hard to ensure that our volunteers have a rewarding experience. As a volunteer, you will receive an induction, training and ongoing support appropriate for your role. From mentors and support teams to fundraising and administration.

Digital Friendly York as a network helps organisations to work together to provide better support for residents and we are proud to be a member of this partnership.
