We'll wipe your devices of personal data, refurbish them, and get them doing good in our local communities.
Devices are hard to come by, and we can't get enough of them! We use them for a range of reasons, from providing digital making activities to local school-aged children, to working to distribute them to people who need them in our local communities. Your donation won't be wasted.

We’ll use industry-standard software to destroy all of your data, and we can supply certificates of data destruction on request. Please sign out of Apple ID or your Google accounts before you donate. Similarly, make sure your device is unlocked or we won't be able to get in to wipe the data.
The devices we receive are used in our free services that work to build digital skills and create equal education opportunities for all young people across North Yorkshire, and are distributed throughout the local community to those who need them most.
By donating your old devices to a charity, you are also preventing them from going to landfill, helping us to protect our environment. Where some devices cannot be reused, we will ensure to recycle them where possible, but our priority is to make the devices ready to be reused at one of our services.

Donate your devices at our Monks Cross hub
We're delighted to now be able to accept device donations at our Monks Cross office, located just behind Monks Cross Shopping Park. Whether you are donating just one laptop, or are a business donating numerous old computers, our loading bay makes it super easier to drop off your devices with a volunteer.
Please email hello@keepingdigital.org.uk to arrange a drop off time and date - if we are not available, speak to The Storage Team reception (next door) and they will allow you keep it secure for you (just ensure it's boxed with a label saying it's for Keeping Digital Foundation).

Thinking of donating devices to the Keeping Digital Foundation? Enquire about booking a drop-off appointment and we can ensure a volunteer is ready to accept your donation. This way, you can ensure it's received and we can give you a little thank you card for donating your devices! Without your donations, we wouldn't be able to do all the great work we do.
We are currently unable to accept donations at our Bootham office or at any of our Digital Cafes - we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
