Meet Gwiddle!
Gwiddle is now part of the Keeping Digital Foundation, aiming to improve access to digital technology and also support young people in Computer Science education. To allow more students to get involved and try coding, we're providing free website hosting so students can test code and build exciting projects.
Introducing... Positivi-tea! Our new partnership with Bird & Blend Tea Co to soothe your technophobia!
Available exclusively on our online store, we've partnered with our friends at Bird & Blend Tea Co to create our very own Positivi-tea tea blend to help people with their technophobia, whilst also working to raise awareness of how people can get support.
According to new Google search data, the UK is the second most technophobic country in the world! Most recently fuelled by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and increasing cyber attacks, it's thought most people experience a little bit of anxiety when confronted by new technology.
That's why we've partnered with our friends, and the tea geniuses at Bird & Blend Tea Co to developed our very own calming tea blend. A comforting combination of lavender, chamomile and rose, our tea blend is perfect for any time of day, and is a super relaxing blend to help you think a bit more positively. Plus, it's naturally caffeine-free, making it perfect just before bed.
Get support at our Digital Cafes
Our Digital Cafes are popping up across the city of York, providing a space for York residents to get dedicated support in getting online.
Hosted in a 2 hour session, residents can come down for a warm drink and to ask any questions (and bring along any devices).
Our volunteers are here to help you get online, from setting up a smart phone to signing up to the NHS app or York Council website.
At selected Digital Cafes across the city of York, the Keeping Digital Foundation are providing free digital workshops provided by our dedicated volunteers.
We've partnered with York's Virgin Money to bring the Databank to the high street
We've partnered with our friends at Virgin Money to make getting your free Databank SIM card even easier. If you can't make a Digital Cafe, you can now pop into the York City Centre (Coney Street) branch of Virgin Money and ask to speak to a staff member about the Databank. The Databank scheme is discreet and confidential, and you don't have to be a Virgin Money customer.
