Exciting news, we've been nominated for two categories in the 2024 YorkMix Listener Choice Awards, but we need your help by voting for us!
The YorkMix Choice Awards are back for 2024, and this year we are nominated for Best Organisation for Giving Back or Supporting Others, and for Best Childrens' Business, Service or Activity. The awards don't have judges, instead they are voted by the YorkMix readers and listeners.
The first round of voting is now open and closes on the 12th October 2024, and we need your help by simply placing your vote for us (it's super easy).

Best Organisation for Giving Back or Supporting Others: Keeping Digital Foundation
Formed in 2016 as York Pi Jam and then developing into the Keeping Digital Foundation, we’ve become Yorkshire’s leading digital inclusivity charitable organisation. We run services across Yorkshire and the Humber, with the aim to empower residents to get online, and to also inspire the next generation through our digital making activities. Founded by then two-York teenagers Luke and David, Keeping Digital Foundation now runs seven Digital Cafes across York that is a warm space where local residents can have a brew and access vital services like the NHS app, local council support and just ask any questions about getting online. In a growing digital world, Keeping Digital and their volunteers help support hundreds of local residents. We’re a 100% volunteer-led organisation, meaning no one is paid and all of our funds go straight into our services. This award would act as recognition for all of the hard work our volunteers and team do.
Best Childrens’ Business, Service or Activity: Gwiddle Club York
Formerly known as York CoderDojo
Gwiddle Club York is a friendly place to meet and develop your coding and tech skills or learn something new. We run informal sessions where young people from 7-17 and families can come along and work on projects, develop new skills, participate in challenges, whatever you want. We’re here to provide guidance, encouragement & support in a relaxed environment. You can work on an existing project, learn something new, show us your cool coding projects or just see what’s going on.
It now runs bi-weekly, and allows young people across York to develop their digital making skills, securing great futures and teaching them vital skills. Thanks to Gwiddle, they’re closing the digital divide between young people. We’re a 100% volunteer-led organisation, so no one is paid and all of our funds go straight into our club sessions in York. This award would act as recognition for all of the hard work our volunteers and team do.

These awards act as recognition to all of our team who are all volunteers, from the amazing team who run our face-to-face digital inclusion support services, our digital making mentors who run our activities across the region, to our coordinators and leads who help ensure Keeping Digital Foundation will be here to support even more residents.
Our services improve the lives of hundreds of residents every year, both at our face-to-face services and through our online support.
We're here for Yorkshire.
