How is Keeping Digital Foundation going greener?

We think it's highly important that we all take responsibility in looking after our planet - which is why we have released measures we're taking to turn Keeping Digital Foundation even greener (beyond our brand colour).

Our hub is powered by solar energy

Since the beginning of 2024, our Monks Cross Hub was fitted with solar panels - an exciting step in a great, green direction.

Encouraging volunteers to travel the green way

With York benefitting from a huge investment in electric buses, it's never been greener to travel to our services. That's why, we're proud to cover our volunteer's bus fares whenever they are travelling to one of our services. It's our way of promoting public transport.

Removing plastic bottles from our organisation

We have phased out plastic bottles across the organisation, with all staff at our hubs being provided with reusable metal bottles. At services where we require water (especially when hot), we are making sustainable switches to cartons or boxes of water.

My Keeping Digital uses e-tickets

When booking onto our services across the country, you will be sent an e-ticket to your email address. Don't worry, you don't need to print it out. You can show this e-ticket on your mobile device, or just let a volunteer know your name and we can find your booking manually.

Reducing the letters we send

Where possible, we are now sending letters via email to residents who benefit from our services. However, for those residents unable to get online, we will continue to send these letters via the post - however we are being mindful about the letters we send.
